Foundation Friday is a weekly feature on PhotoCapM beginning next week. Rich Legg had the opportunity to speak prior to the seminar on “Pre-visualization” this week and his topic struck a very important cord with me. He spoke about Utah photographers (all of us) giving back to our community just one hour a week and how that might impact those around us.
It was a very powerful lesson (“sermon” is what he called it) and one that I have taken to heart. There are two items that I have added to PhotoCapM. The first is the box located in the Main Menu column called, “A Photographer’s Time One Hour at a Time”. In this box I hope to highlight things that photographers in Utah are doing in giving back to their communities.
Second, is this weekly article, “Photo Foundation Friday”, where you will find articles about specific things you can get involved in directly. There are so many things that you can do as a photographer to help those less fortunate. Rich, in his lesson/sermon, listed several organizations that need your talents in assisting them to assist others.
Next Friday I will provide a list to you of those organizations that are calling you out for just one hour (maybe two, or how about a whole day…) a week to freely share your talent and gift as an image maker. Look for that first article one week from today. And, remember to check out “A Photographer’s Time One Hour at a Time” regularly for updates on those artists who are making a difference in their communities.
