Sometimes it is fun to mess around on the spur of the moment. This photograph was taken just a few minutes ago. I wanted to test the Google Notebook in loading photos on the fly.
It turns out that I was able to take the photograph and load it to Flickr in a very short period of time. This type of loading and posting up on the fly is going to become more common for me as I look to hone skills related to Photojournalism. Getting images up quickly when something is happening right now is pretty important.
As for the editing? Well, I have not done anything with a vignette since High School, so I thought it might be interesting to explore a little. Not that I would ever post up a “news type” photograph that has this treatment.
My thought was to draw attention to the horse’s eyes. I felt that doing a vignette would bring the focus to where I wanted it. I hope you find it successfully accomplished.
I used Pixlr to edit the photo online and then posted it to Flickr from the program itself. Other than slow to load, Pixlr seems to be a pretty good free program to use to do some editing. I am not sure I would use it to do any major editing, but for my purpose today it worked out wonderfully.
